Digital Transformation at a 500MW Thermoelectric Complex
Client:European Multinational in the Energy Sector
Autis Analytics was hired to structure and implement the Project Controls solution for one of the largest thermoelectric complexes under construction in Brazil, with 500MW of installed capacity.
The Challenge
The complex operated with completely fragmented data: 15+ international contractors used their own ERPs, schedules — ranging from Primavera P6 to Excel spreadsheets — and proprietary report formats. The Project Controls team manually processed hundreds of spreadsheets every week, resulting in reports delayed 3 to 5 days and a high risk of cross-source inconsistencies. Critical contractual milestones for energy delivery to the interconnected grid were at risk, and management had no reliable visibility into the real state of the project. Regulatory pressure demanded complete traceability of all cost and schedule events.
The Solution
We built an integrated data architecture connecting the contractors' legacy ERP systems, Primavera P6 EPPM schedules, and physical-progress IoT sensors into a single Azure Data Lake. On that foundation, we delivered a Business Intelligence platform with Power BI Premium: real-time executive dashboards, operational panels by discipline and work front, and an automated alert system tuned to detect critical deviations. We also developed a Power Apps portal for standardized progress-report submission across all contractors, eliminating data fragmentation at the source. The rollout was phased, with structured onboarding and training for more than 200 professionals.
